Default So, new to the game..

Im new to the game, still learning the ropes, and my hardest dicision so far has been chosing a character to be.

So far ive tried monk/mes and ranger/elemental.

I like ranger/ele cause Aoe, bow and pet, but people have told me monk/mes is a good combo.

I guess my question is what is a good combo of classes for a newcomer to the game to try out?

Thanks

I've pretty much degenerated into a pure monk user. It's my favorite class do to my prefered playing style (support).

My Advice would be to try all the classes before you decided which one you like the most.

Also, you'll notice they give you more than one slot in the character collection screen, so why do you have to choose only one class?

If you're new to the game, then set up your build as pure healer for the time that you're in the pve world.

Mo/Me is a good combo, but Ranger is a very good profession to learn the ropes on, because you're kinda in-between the Warriors & the casters, so you can see a bit about what those professions are up to.

The nice thing is, you've got 4 character slots to play with. If you like the R/E - play that for a while, then test out another profession with a different slot and see how that one goes.

I'd say to try a Mo/e beacuse moe is a great name, and you can use glyph of lesser energy, which takes the energy cost of your next spell down by 15, but in a real sense, since the glyph costs 5, your spending 10 less<.<
though mesmers can steal energy, you need a foe to mooch it off of[excluding the elite, but I feel monk elites are better for healing monks]

Thanks, Im having fun with my ranger/elemental now, shooting and having my pet attack while my aoe's hit them.

Where do I go to learn more elemtental/ranger spells?

And what level should I procede past the tutorial?

talk to the various npc trainers you have already met, it's been a while since I made a character but I think you can ask them about trainers, click on ranger or elementalist and you'll get a quest style green starburst/arrow pointing to a corrisponding trainer. There's 2 for rangers and elementalists IIRC, the rangers are nate, who is on the road to ranik, and some guy on the top of a hill, across from the first bridge to ranik, when you have your back to the statue of melandru. The 2 eles are at foble's fair, follow the road that devona is on straight past her, comming from ascalon, and the other is at a tower farther down the road, which the first ele will give you a quest that will take you near her.
